Wind and cloud dominate Tenerife’s weather this Saturday
The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has forecast a Saturday of generally cloudy skies, with some light rain and a slight rise in temperatures across Tenerife. The most significant feature of the day will be the wind, which could bring very strong gusts in parts of the Anaga massif.
General forecast for the Canary Islands
Across the archipelago as a whole, below 1,000-1,200 metres, cloudy skies are expected, which may bring occasional light drizzle in the mid-altitude zones.
North Tenerife: Drizzle and cloudy skies
In the north of Tenerife, below 1,100-1,200 metres, cloudy skies are forecast, accompanied by occasional weak drizzle in the mid-altitude areas, particularly in the northeast. Elsewhere, skies will be mostly clear with some cloud cover on the western slopes during the night. Temperatures will see little change, though slight increases are expected at higher altitudes. Winds will be moderate from the northeast, with strong intervals at the southeastern and northwestern extremes and in the mid-altitude areas of the southern side of Anaga, where locally very strong gusts are likely, especially during the afternoon. Light breezes are expected on the west coast.

La Gomera: Similar conditions across the island
In the north of La Gomera, below 1,100 metres, cloudy skies are expected with occasional weak drizzle in mid-altitude areas. Elsewhere, skies will be mostly clear. Temperatures will remain largely unchanged. Moderate northeasterly winds will bring strong intervals on the southeastern and northwestern slopes, where locally very strong gusts are possible, particularly in the afternoon. Light breezes are forecast on the southwest coast.

La Palma: Clouds clearing through the day
In the north and east of La Palma, below 1,100-1,200 metres, cloudy skies are expected, possibly accompanied by occasional weak drizzle in mid-altitude areas, though these will tend to clear and become mostly clear during the day. Elsewhere, skies will be mostly clear. Temperatures will see little change, except for slight increases on the peaks. Winds will be moderate from the northeast, with strong intervals at the southeastern and northwestern extremes, where locally very strong gusts are likely in the afternoon. Light breezes are expected on the west coast.

El Hierro: Cloudy intervals and wind warnings
Cloudy intervals are forecast in the north of El Hierro, which will tend to become mostly clear during the day. Elsewhere, skies will be mostly clear. Temperatures will remain largely unchanged. Winds will be moderate from the northeast, with strong intervals at the southeastern and western extremes, where locally very strong gusts cannot be ruled out in the afternoon. Light breezes are expected on the southwest coast.
