Panoramic Lift in Las Rehoyas Park Back in Service
The panoramic lift at Las Rehoyas park in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria was put back into operation on Wednesday, having been out of service since early March. In a statement, the City Council confirmed that the installation is running again now that the technical issue which led to its temporary shutdown on safety grounds has been resolved.
External Water Leak Identified as Cause
The local authority explained that the lift had been inoperative due to a water leakage problem caused by a fault at the neighbouring Las Rehoyas sports centre, which affected its operation. After carrying out the necessary checks, municipal services managed to identify the external source of the fault. This allowed them to plan and execute the required repair work.
Key Link for Park Accessibility Restored
The council emphasised that with the completion of the works, the panoramic lift once again fulfils its key role in providing accessibility and connecting the different levels of Las Rehoyas park. It bridges a height difference of more than 30 metres between Agustina de Aragón and Fortunata streets.
The City Council thanked local residents for their understanding regarding the inconvenience caused during this period and reaffirmed its commitment to the maintenance and continuous improvement of municipal infrastructure.
