Serious fall on La Palma coast
A 43-year-old woman has been seriously injured after falling in a coastal area of La Palma, according to the Coordinating Centre for Emergencies and Safety (Cecoes) 112 of the Canary Islands Government. The incident occurred on the night of Saturday, 5 September, near the Faro de La Bombilla in the municipality of Tazacorte, Bomberos La Palma has reported on its social media channels.
Rescue operation
The fire service added that crews from the La Laguna station of Bomberos de La Palma carried out the rescue after the woman fell onto rocks. Once she had been rescued and immobilised, she was taken by stretcher to where a fully equipped ambulance from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) was waiting, which then transported her to the Hospital Universitario de La Palma.
