Global Sustainable Islands Summit Kicks Off in Gran Canaria
The President of the Gran Canaria Island Council, Antonio Morales, alongside the Councillor for the Environment, Climate, Energy and Knowledge, Raúl García Brink, welcomed government authorities and senior officials this Monday morning. The reception was held in the plenary chamber of the island’s government for participants of the Global Sustainable Islands Summit (GSIS) 2026.
A World Forum for Island Sustainability
Organised by Island Innovation in collaboration with the Gran Canaria Island Council, the summit is being held from Monday, 20th April, until this Wednesday, 22nd April, at ExpoMeloneras. The event is established as the world’s leading forum dedicated to driving sustainable development in island territories.
