Tenerife comic and illustration salon returns with 40 exhibitions
The XXIII Salón Internacional del Cómic y la Ilustración de Tenerife will host a total of 40 exhibitions spread across different locations in the Canary Islands from 29 October to 1 November, although the bulk of them – 24 in all – will be held in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. More than 80 artists will take part, and new venues and activities are being added to this year’s programme.
Plaza del Príncipe to host commercial area and cosplay stage
The Plaza del Príncipe will house the salon’s commercial area, made up of seven shops and an Artist Alley with more than 80 participants. It will also feature a stage dedicated to cosplay and K-pop activities, as well as a J-pop and idol competition, one of the new additions to this edition.
New venues join the line-up
The Museo Municipal de Bellas Artes de Santa Cruz de Tenerife will once again be the setting for talks and presentations, while the Real Casino de Tenerife joins as the venue for the salon’s Awards Gala and the Canary Islands Youth Comic and Illustration Competition 2026.
City leaders welcome international projection of the event
During the presentation of this new edition, the mayor of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, José Manuel Bermúdez, stressed the importance of “the city once again becoming a meeting point for comic and illustration fans, with a programme that helps to boost cultural and commercial activity”. He also underlined “the value of hosting an event with international reach that brings different forms of artistic expression closer to audiences of all ages”.
Purificación Dávila, councillor for the Centro-Ifara district, highlighted the salon’s presence in various parts of the capital, especially around the city centre. The councillor for Culture, Santiago Díaz Mejías, welcomed the return of the Centro de Arte La Recova as one of the salon’s venues, rejoining the programme after three years.
Francisco Pomares, president of the Fundación Cine+Cómics, emphasised “the scale” of an edition that will feature more than 100 activities and 40 exhibitions spread across various municipalities in the Canary Islands.
