Tourist drives rental car onto busy Tenerife beach
A scene as unexpected as it is striking has gone viral on social media after a tourist ended up trapped with a hire car on Playa de Troya, in the Tenerife municipality of Adeje. The driver, apparently having mistaken the access point, ended up driving directly onto the sand until he became completely stuck. The incident took place in one of the busiest tourist areas in the south of Tenerife and was filmed by several onlookers. The footage quickly began circulating on social media.
Rescue mission turns into a beachside spectacle
In the video, the vehicle can be seen immobilised on the sand, unable to move forwards or backwards under its own power.
