Titsa launches summer timetables for Tenerife beaches

Summer timetables begin 22 June across Tenerife

Tenerife’s public bus operator Titsa will introduce its summer timetables from 22 June, with a schedule tailored to the surge in travel towards coastal areas during the summer season. The company will adjust several routes, activate specific lines for beach access, and increase frequencies on journeys with higher demand over these months. The measure aims to respond to the rise in passengers heading to bathing and leisure spots across the island. The timetable changes affect lines in the metropolitan area, the north, and interurban connections, and also include route modifications and the temporary suspension of certain services linked to the academic calendar.

New beach routes for the north and Anaga

Among the main new features is the activation of lines 546 and 948, two routes associated with summer mobility. The first will connect Realejo Alto, Realejo Bajo, San Agustín and Playa del Socorro, while the second will link Azanos with Benijo, passing through Playa de Almáciga. Line 546 will once again provide access to Playa del Socorro, one of the most popular coastal spots in northern Tenerife during the summer. This connection will allow travel from the Los Realejos area to the coast without needing a private vehicle.

In Anaga, line 948 will be activated to cover the route between Azanos, Almáciga and Benijo, strengthening mobility to one of the island’s most scenically attractive coastal areas.

Santa Cruz and Anaga services boosted

In Santa Cruz de Tenerife, line 910, which connects the bus interchange with Las Teresitas via San Andrés, will increase its frequency every day. This route is one of the main public transport links to the capital’s beach. Services on line 946, which runs from the interchange to San Andrés, Taganana and Almáciga, will also be expanded. In this case, the reinforcement will apply at weekends, when demand usually increases towards the coastal villages of Anaga. These changes are designed to improve service capacity on days of higher passenger numbers and provide an alternative to using a private car in areas where parking can be limited.

Extra services for La Laguna, Tacoronte and the north coast

In the La Laguna and Tacoronte area, line 021 will add two new departures from Tacoronte, at 18:00 and 19:00, and another two from Mesa del Mar, at 18:30 and 19:30. Line 050, which serves the route between La Laguna, Tegueste, Bajamar and Punta del Hidalgo, will have additional journeys on weekdays. Meanwhile, line 224 will modify its route during the summer schedule. This service will no longer run via Punta del Hidalgo and Bajamar and will instead operate through La Barranquera and Jover.

Titsa will also increase services on lines 369 and 376. The first connects Buenavista with Punta de Teno, while the second links La Orotava station with Las Dehesas and El Rincón. The increase in journeys will apply on both weekdays and weekends. Additionally, line 380 will introduce services departing from and arriving at La Orotava, extending its usual route between La Corujera and Tigaiga.

Interurban connections and weekend reinforcements

Interurban lines will also see adjustments once the summer timetable comes into effect. Line 139 will add new services, as will line 138. Both will extend their routes to Playa de la Nea. Line 122, which connects Santa Cruz, Las Caletillas and Candelaria, will reinforce its service with more frequent journeys at weekends. These changes are part of the reorganisation of the public transport offer for summer, with particular attention to travel towards bathing areas and coastal towns.

Temporary adjustments and suspensions

The summer schedule also includes adjustments and temporary suspensions. On line 023, the last service will depart at 19:15. In addition, its stop at El Pris will be at 19:40, instead of 19:15. From 22 June, lines 392, 410, 412, 419, 421 and 486 will cease to operate. University shuttle services 605, 606, 608 and 611 will also be suspended, coinciding with the summer schedule and the end of ordinary academic activity. Titsa recommends checking updated timetables before travelling, as the changes affect various parts of Tenerife and may modify both frequencies and usual routes.
