Thursday brings a cloudy start and a few light drizzles
The Canary Islands will see little change today, 18 June. The morning is dominated by abundant low clouds over northern districts, with a few light drizzles possible on the mid-altitude slopes of Tenerife and Gran Canaria. The drizzles are weaker than in recent hours and should vanish quickly. Fog may affect the area around Tenerife North Airport early in the day.
As the hours pass, clear spells will gain ground in southern areas, though scattered clouds may linger. The wind blows from the north, light to moderate, and will strengthen slightly by the afternoon. It will feel breezy on exposed coasts.
Temperatures are stable, with no significant changes. The Ocean remains calm overall, with slightly choppy conditions and rough patches north of the islands. Waves stay below 1.5 metres.
Island by island
Tenerife
Low clouds around 1,300 metres in the north. A few drops may fall, especially in the Anaga mountains. The south will also see some cloud cover. Temperatures unchanged.
Gran Canaria
Grey skies at dawn in the north. A light drizzle could occur in the mid-altitude zones. The south will have variable cloud cover. Temperatures similar to previous days.
Lanzarote
Some north wind by the afternoon. Clouds will return to the north and west of the island, clearing in the capital. Temperatures in Arrecife range between 19 and 25 degrees Celsius.
Fuerteventura
Low clouds from the morning, thinning after midday. Temperatures in Puerto del Rosario between 19 and 26 degrees Celsius.
La Palma
Scattered clouds in the north and east in the morning, spreading unevenly across the rest of the island. A slight increase in humidity due to the north wind.
La Gomera
The wind will strengthen on the exposed tips of the island by the afternoon. Low clouds in the north, a few scattered clouds in the south. Temperatures between 20 and 25 degrees Celsius.
El Hierro
Clouds return to the north. An insignificant drop of rain may fall in northern zones, mainly in the morning. Temperatures remain steady.
La Graciosa
A grey day for most of the day. Hardly any sun. A light to moderate north wind. Rough ocean. Temperatures unchanged.
