Six-hour closure on the El Rejo road
The CV-14, known as the El Rejo road, will remain closed to traffic this Tuesday, 13 October, in the municipality of Hermigua, on La Gomera. The closure will run from 07:00 until 13:00 and is due to work included in the emergency measures being carried out by the island’s Cabildo.
Stretch affected between the GM-1 and Reventón Oscuro
According to the island authority, the closure will affect the stretch between the junction with the GM-1 road and the point known as Reventón Oscuro. The temporary closure of the El Rejo road is needed to install a crane that will lift materials and equipment for the work being carried out on the slope at kilometre point 2+300 of the CV-14.
Part of emergency works under way since April
These measures form part of the emergency works that the Cabildo de La Gomera has been carrying out on this island road since 22 April, with the aim of intervening in the affected stretch. The closure of the CV-14 will be in force for six hours, from 07:00 to 13:00 on Tuesday 13 October.
Signage and traffic marshals on site
The restriction will affect the stretch between the link with the GM-1 and Reventón Oscuro, so drivers are advised to take this interruption into account before planning their journeys through the area. During the work, signs and traffic cones will be installed at both ends of the closed stretch. There will also be traffic marshals to direct traffic and guarantee safety during the works.
The Cabildo has also stated that immediate access will be guaranteed for emergency services if required. Drivers should pay attention to the temporary signage and follow the instructions of staff on site while the works are carried out.
