Sunday’s weather in Tenerife
The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) forecasts a cloudy day for Tenerife this Sunday, with the north of the island set to see the greyest conditions. Light and occasional rain cannot be ruled out, particularly in the northeast at the start and end of the day, though some clear spells are likely to open up during the central hours. Elsewhere on the island, skies will be mostly clear, gradually becoming more cloudy in intervals through the middle of the day and into the afternoon on the south and west coasts, where isolated light showers are possible.
Temperatures will range between 18 and 23 degrees Celsius. Winds will be moderate from the northeast, with strong intervals in low-lying areas of the southeast and far west, as well as mid-altitude slopes south of La Dorsal, where locally very strong gusts cannot be ruled out.
Outlook for the rest of the Canary Islands
Across the wider archipelago, the easternmost islands (Lanzarote and Fuerteventura) will see cloudy skies during the early hours, thinning to intervals of cloud as the day progresses. For the mountainous islands, cloudy skies are expected with a low probability of light and occasional rain, not ruled out in inland areas, though some clear spells should open up during daylight hours. Elsewhere, skies will be mostly clear.
Moderate northeast winds will bring strong intervals on the northwest and southeast sides of the mountainous islands.
