A hidden gem in Tenerife: Bodega La Suertita

Discovering a culinary treasure in Los Realejos

Tenerife is home to gastronomic corners that go far beyond its more famous dishes, and one such find is Bodega La Suertita. Located in Los Realejos, this small guachinche has carved out a reputation for serving Canarian cuisine made with local produce in a truly unique setting.

Social media content creators pay a visit

Food content creators @guachinchesmodernos recently visited the establishment and were quick to share their experience with followers. “What a beautiful and welcoming place we were able to enjoy,” they wrote. “Natural surroundings, the sound of birds, and total peace.”

A short but perfectly formed menu

One of the most striking features of Bodega La Suertita is its compact menu. You will find just a handful of dishes, but that is enough to try them all in a single visit. Among the items the content creators sampled, the mojo cheese stood out. “It’s really tasty,” they noted. “If they put that much bread on your table, you know something is coming that you’ll want to dip in, and it’s delicious,” said Joana just before the dish arrived.

The house salad is made with “local produce” and is a must-try, offering a fresh start to the meal and whetting the appetite for what follows. The chickpeas are another highlight, with a special house twist: they include almonds, raisins, and chorizo, a combination that leaves a lasting impression on diners.

Finally, they tried the salmorejo pork and the goat meat, two dishes known for their depth of flavour. “The portions are not large, but they are very tasty,” they explained. To round off the experience, there was no missing the timba (a traditional Canary Islands sweet), accompanied by coffee served straight from a traditional coffee maker.

The star of the show: rosé vermouth

If one thing really won them over during their visit, it was the rosé vermouth. Made with local plants and served with aromatic ice, it was a hit. “The vermouth is spectacular,” they assured, to the point of ordering it several times throughout the meal.

Book ahead – space is limited

Another key detail is the venue’s small size, so they strongly recommend booking in advance. “It’s essential to make a reservation because it’s very small, and you could easily miss out,” they warned.

Location, ratings, and opening hours

Bodega La Suertita is located on Calle Calzadilla, in La Cruz Santa, Los Realejos. It holds a 4.5-star rating on Google, reflecting the satisfaction of those who have visited, despite only opening two days a week. It is open Friday and Saturday from 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM; the rest of the week, the guachinche is closed for staff rest.
