Helicopter Rescue in Los Cernícalos Ravine
A 51-year-old hiker was rescued by helicopter on Thursday after suffering a fall in the Los Cernícalos ravine in Telde, Gran Canaria. The Emergency and Security Coordinating Centre (Cecoes) 1-1-2 confirmed the incident.
Emergency Response Activated
The incident occurred at approximately 14:09 hours, when the 1-1-2 operations room received an alert. As the accident happened in a difficult-to-access area, Cecoes immediately activated the necessary emergency resources to intervene.
Air Evacuation to Hospital
Upon arrival at the scene, a crew from the GES emergency service helicopter rescued the woman, who had sustained moderate trauma. She was evacuated by air to the helipad at the Doctor Negrín University Hospital of Gran Canaria in Las Palmas.
Personnel from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) attended to the hiker upon landing before transferring her to the hospital’s accident and emergency department for further treatment.
