Tenerife weather: Tuesday brings stable skies and gusty winds

Tuesday’s weather overview for Tenerife

Tuesday’s weather in Tenerife will be largely stable, though with some notable variations during the day. According to the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), skies will remain mostly clear with intervals of high cloud, but light and occasional rain cannot be ruled out in certain areas, particularly during the afternoon. Temperatures will see little change, keeping conditions mild, while the wind will become more prominent in parts of the archipelago.

Morning and afternoon conditions across the island

In Tenerife, the day will start with largely clear skies, albeit with some high cloud. As the hours progress, especially in the afternoon, cloud cover will increase in inland, southern and eastern areas, where light, scattered showers remain a possibility. Thermometers will hold steady, with values ranging between 18 and 23 degrees Celsius in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. The northeast wind will blow at moderate strength, producing strong gusts along the southeast coast in the afternoon. On the island’s summits, the wind will be more variable, with a southwesterly component and stronger gusts at higher altitudes.

Conditions across the rest of the Canary Islands

Across the Canary Islands as a whole, mostly clear skies will persist, though with spells of high and low cloud at various points during the day. In Gran Canaria, strong gusts are forecast along the northwest and southeast coasts. La Palma, La Gomera and El Hierro may see cloudier intervals in inland areas, albeit with a low chance of light rain. Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, meanwhile, will enjoy mostly clear skies, stable temperatures and a moderate northeast wind.

Sea state and maritime outlook

At sea, conditions are forecast to be slight to moderate, with a north or northwesterly swell of around one metre. Overall, it should be a straightforward day on the water with no major complications.
