Pope’s Tenerife visit: Live music and screens ahead of Mass

Music and giant screens to entertain crowds before papal Mass in Tenerife

The wait for the thanksgiving Mass celebrating Pope Leo XIV’s visit to Tenerife, scheduled for 12 June, will be enlivened by a full programme of live musical performances and audiovisual entertainment for those attending. The head of Pastoral Care on the organising committee, Juan Antonio Guedes, has confirmed the details.

An hour of pre-Mass entertainment

For approximately one hour before the start of the Eucharist, which will begin at 12 noon, the public will be able to enjoy an atmosphere designed to make the wait more pleasant, combining music, images and information messages related to the event.

Line-up of artists

The musical programme will kick off with a performance by the Christian group Guan Magec, led by permanent deacon Alejandro Abrante. They will be followed by Los Sabandeños, who will perform several religious pieces from their repertoire. The finale will be delivered by singer Chago Melián, who will round off proceedings with his well-known “Ave María”, one of the most anticipated moments of the day.

Audiovisual support on giant screens

In addition to the music, the organisers have prepared audiovisual content to be shown on giant screens, featuring videos with useful information for attendees, including details on how the event will unfold and the main security measures in place. This combination of performances and visual content aims to enhance the public’s experience at what is expected to be a huge event, making the wait more dynamic ahead of one of the central acts of the papal visit to the Canary Islands.
