New platform from Miramedia
The Canary Islands communications group Miramedia has taken a significant step in its digital transformation with the launch of Miraplay, a new audiovisual platform offering content from Mírame TV from any location and on any device. According to a statement from the group, users can now enjoy live broadcasts of Mírame TV, as well as access a wide range of on-demand content.
International channel coming soon
From 23 June, the platform will also incorporate the live feed of the new international channel, Islas Canarias Televisión, broadening its audiovisual offering to reach more viewers both within and beyond the archipelago. Miraplay will provide a complete experience combining live television, catch-up programmes, reports, documentaries, series, cultural and sporting events, as well as exclusive content that will be available on the platform before appearing on other distribution channels. It represents a commitment to giving viewers greater freedom to choose when, where and how they consume content.
Showcasing Canarian talent
The new platform also aims to become a showcase for the talent and creativity of the Islands, the regional broadcaster noted. Miraplay will feature a dedicated space for Canarian content creators, giving visibility to some of the archipelago’s most prominent podcasts, as well as integrating a selection of Canarian radio stations to complete the platform’s multimedia experience.
A modern, open approach to television
With this launch, Miramedia reinforces its commitment to a more open, modern television service adapted to new forms of audiovisual consumption, without losing the essence that has made Mírame TV the Canary Islands’ regional channel. Linear television will continue to be a fundamental part of the group’s activities, while Miraplay expands access to content and allows the broadcaster to connect with new audiences, particularly more digitally-minded users and the Canarian community scattered across the globe.
