The fuse is lit
Keroxen 2026 has revealed the names that will once again transform Santa Cruz de Tenerife’s Espacio Cultural El Tanque into a laboratory of music and creation, where visual arts and artistic residencies also converge. Running from 10 September to 10 October, this year’s edition also breaks new ground: four concerts will take place in Lanzarote and nine more at London’s Café OTO in late October, in collaboration with the Sello Discrepant label.
With more than 30 proposals from Asia, Europe, America and Africa, in dialogue with the national and Canarian scene, the festival remains faithful to the philosophy with which it was born 18 years ago: discovering projects that escape conventional circuits and fostering encounters between artists.
The heart of the festival
The immense Tenerife oil tank will once again be the heart of an event that overflows its own boundaries. In addition to the days at El Tanque, the programme includes artistic residencies, the now-traditional outing in Bajamar, the festival’s extension in Lanzarote and the London date. All this expands the map of a Keroxen that understands creation as a shared and constantly moving process.
Opening night: 10 September
The 2026 edition kicks off on 10 September with a day that will bring together a reinterpretation of Olivier Messiaen’s work by Esther Ropón and Ernst Surberg, the eagerly awaited Eraserhead show by US band Xiu Xiu inspired by David Lynch’s film, and the premiere of Amanogawa, an artistic residency created by Japanese duo Waq Waq Kingdom alongside visual artist Kalma. This immersive proposal combines electronic music, Japanese tradition and audiovisual creation.
11 September: Residency and experimental icons
On 11 September, the focus turns to the residency developed by audiovisual collective Desilence and Japanese vocalist Hatis Noit, who will share the spotlight with British band Seefeel, true benchmarks of experimental electronic music, the forcefulness of Brazilian group Rakta and the Canarian proposal of Dancelwerk.
12 September: Global dialogues
The third day, 12 September, will be marked by the premiere of Ecos, a project that brings together Sara Maurin Kane, Nina Ndiaye and Inés Sybille in a dialogue between Senegal, Haiti and the Canary Islands. The night will be completed by the intensity of British group GNOD, Asian duo Takkak Takkak and Canarian act Usted.
Bajamar and beyond
As is tradition, Keroxen will again leave El Tanque for a special day in Bajamar on 3 October, with performances by Las Arañas del Neptuno, Javier Goldin and Severine Beata, maintaining one of the festival’s most distinctive encounters, associated with a native plant-planting session.
Grand finale: 10 October
The programme at Espacio Cultural El Tanque culminates on 10 October with another intense day headlined by the premiere of False Vectors, an artistic residency created by Palestinians Muqata’a and Fairouz Hasan. The bill is completed by Lebanese project PRAED, Peruvian duo Agua Dulce formed by Ale Hop and Laura Robles, Italian-Tibetan musician Namkhai Yeshi and Canarian act Sunday German Flowers.
