Free ham and wine night at La Laguna’s historic meson

Free tapas night in La Laguna’s historic centre

The historic centre of Aguere is gearing up to host an unmissable event for food lovers this coming Friday, 31 July. El Mesón de La Laguna, situated at number 105 on the central Calle Herradores, is inviting customers, locals and visitors to enjoy a special evening where Iberian ham takes centre stage.

Live carving demonstration and free portions

From 7.30pm, the establishment’s terrace will be transformed into an open-air culinary venue. Every guest who orders a draught beer or a glass of wine will receive a completely free portion of freshly carved Sánchez Romero Carvajal ham, while stocks last. The initiative is designed to thank loyal local patrons and to breathe new life into one of the city’s most iconic commercial and dining streets.

The highlight of the evening will be a live performance by Julio César, a carver of recognised prestige across the Canary Islands. He is noted for his distinctive style, blending precise technical slicing with a show aimed at entertaining the crowd. He will be joined by two professionals from his team, who will keep the carving table running smoothly to maintain a steady flow of plated ham and quality service on the terrace.

What to expect on the night

Attendees will not only get to taste the product but also learn about how to make the most of each cut, the ideal thickness for each slice, and the perfect temperature for serving.
