Binter boosts Vigo-Canary Islands flights for summer

New flights improve connectivity

Binter has bolstered its summer schedule between Vigo and the Canary Islands, introducing two additional weekly flights linking the Galician city with Gran Canaria Airport. The new services, which operate on Mondays and Thursdays, bring the airline’s total weekly frequency between Vigo and the archipelago to 13.

Daily connections and double frequencies

With this expansion, Binter now connects both destinations every day of the week and offers two daily flights on six of those days. The enhanced programme particularly strengthens the Vigo–Gran Canaria route, which will now see flights on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays. The increase in operations improves travel options from Vigo Airport to one of the main gateways into the Canary Islands, with Gran Canaria also serving as a hub for onward travel to the rest of the archipelago via the airline’s inter-island network.

Tenerife service maintained

Alongside the increased frequencies to Gran Canaria, Binter has retained its daily connection between Vigo and Tenerife. This scheduling allows passengers to access regular flights to both of the Canary Islands’ main airports throughout the week. The direct route to Tenerife continues to be a flagship connection for the airline between Galicia and the Canary Islands, catering to tourism, family visits, and business travel alike.

Inter-island network offers seamless travel

Binter has highlighted that one of the key features of its service is the ability for passengers to reach any Canarian airport at the same fare by connecting through the inter-island network. The airline operates more than 220 daily flights between the islands, making it straightforward for passengers travelling from Vigo to continue their journey to destinations such as Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, La Palma, La Gomera, or El Hierro, in addition to Gran Canaria and Tenerife.

Summer schedule meets peak demand

The frequency increase coincides with the peak travel months, when movement between Spain’s autonomous communities rises due to tourism, family reunions, and work-related trips. With this expanded schedule, Binter is reinforcing its offering from Vigo Airport and improving air connectivity between the Canary Islands and northwest mainland Spain, a vital link for an island region where air transport is essential.
