A papal visit changes everything
Nathy Peluso was scheduled to perform in Tenerife on 12 June, but fate had other plans: that same day, the Pope set foot on the island for the first time in history. An event of this magnitude forced a reorganisation of numerous events planned on the island, even affecting the Argentine artist’s concert.
An unexpected opportunity to disconnect
However, this unforeseen turn of events became an opportunity to switch off. The singer shared several photographs taken from La Tejita beach – one of the most emblematic natural spaces in southern Tenerife – with her millions of followers via her Instagram stories. What’s more, in a video posted on TikTok alongside her partner, she showed her followers the spectacular views this corner of the island offers, revealing the beauty of the Canarian coastline.
A near-virgin treasure in Granadilla de Abona
The municipality of Granadilla de Abona, very close to El Médano, hides one of the most impressive beaches on the island. Its near-virgin surroundings and landscapes make La Tejita one of Tenerife’s great natural treasures. Its long stretches of golden sand contrast with the imposing Montaña Roja, one of the most recognisable natural monuments in the archipelago and one of the most photographed sights in the Canary Islands. It is hardly surprising that this is one of the favourite spots for both residents and visitors alike.
Peace, water sports and local flavour
Unlike other more urban beaches, La Tejita retains a tranquil atmosphere even during the high season, making it the ideal place for those looking to escape the crowds. The beach is also one of the preferred spots for those practising water sports such as windsurfing or kitesurfing, taking advantage of the wind conditions that characterise this area of southern Tenerife. Moreover, its proximity to El Médano – known for its surfer vibe, its seafront terraces and its varied gastronomic offering – makes a visit here a very complete experience for anyone exploring the island.
Time stands still at the dream beach
It is precisely this combination of nature, volcanic landscapes, tranquillity and ocean that seems to have won over Nathy Peluso, who found in La Tejita the perfect setting for a pause before returning to the stage. After an unexpected change to her schedule, the artist discovered one of Tenerife’s most special corners – a place where time seems to stand still and where true luxury consists simply of enjoying the sea, the silence and a landscape that lives up to the words with which she herself described her getaway: “In a dream.”
