Reggaeton Beach Festival Tenerife 2026 cancelled
The Reggaeton Beach Festival (RBF) Tenerife 2026 has been cancelled. The organisers confirmed the news in a statement released this Thursday, announcing the suspension of all planned concerts for this year, which were also due to take place in Barcelona, Alicante, Santander, Mallorca, Madrid and Nigrán (Galicia), as well as the cessation of the company’s operations.
Financial difficulties force cancellation
The festival’s management took the decision after analysing the project’s overall situation and concluding that the company’s operational and financial structure can no longer reliably support the organisation and execution of a tour of this scale. After reviewing the current state of the management company, the new administration has identified economic, financial and operational circumstances that significantly affect the viability of the project.
A rapid rise and sudden fall
In recent years, the Reggaeton Beach Festival experienced tremendous growth, becoming a benchmark festival in Europe that attracted thousands of attendees eager to see the biggest names on the international music scene. Despite this success, the company is not in a position to continue with the 2026 tour or maintain the operational activity required to stage the planned events. This has led to the decision to suspend this year’s shows, just days before the Tenerife leg was due to take place on 27 and 28 June.
Disappointment for fans
The cancellation of RBF Tenerife, so close to the event dates on the island, comes as a huge disappointment to fans. The organisers are fully aware of this, as well as the impact it will have on attendees, artists, institutions, sponsors, suppliers and collaborators who had placed their trust in this year’s edition. They have apologised for any consequences that may arise.
The organisers also confirmed that they are analysing the economic, contractual and administrative repercussions of this situation. In the coming days, they will communicate instructions and procedures for the various affected groups through official channels.
A controversial history in Tenerife
Despite becoming a renowned festival, its Tenerife dates were more than once mired in controversy. In 2022, RBF Tenerife was due to be held in San Miguel de Abona, but the event was cancelled shortly before the scheduled date. The town council stated at the time that it prioritised safety in its decision to withdraw authorisation for the concerts. On that occasion, the 20,000 people expected to attend saw their reggaeton paradise crumble.
A year later, the event, which initially seemed set to go ahead without problems, also hit a snag. The concerts were originally due to take place in La Laguna, but again, attendee safety led the town council to deny authorisation. However, this time the event was not completely cancelled, as an agreement with the promoters of Cook Music Fest allowed the festival to be held in Puerto de la Cruz. Finally, reggaeton had its date with Tenerife fans, gaining more followers each year.
A final thank you
The organisers of the Reggaeton Beach Festival have thanked the public, the town councils and administrations that hosted its various editions, the technical and production teams, the media, sponsors and everyone who contributed to the festival’s growth since its inception for their support over the years.
“For eight years, RBF was part of the recent history of urban music in Spain and Europe. We are left with the memory of thousands of shared moments, the energy of an extraordinary audience and the pride of having contributed to the growth of a musical culture that is now part of the global scene,” the organisation concluded in its statement.
