A taste of tradition in La Laguna
Tenerife is home to many traditional local eateries where homemade Canarian cuisine remains the star of the menu. One such spot is Tasca Los Palomeros, a restaurant in La Laguna that prides itself on preserving traditions and serving dishes that win over diners with every bite. Content creators @guachinchesmodernos recently visited and were quick to share their delightful experience with followers. “It’s small but cosy, with really tasty homemade food at good prices,” they noted.
What’s on the menu?
They kicked off their meal with a salpicón of octopus and prawns, a combination that pleasantly surprised the TikTokers. “Octopus and prawn – what a treat. I’m absolutely loving this salpicón,” they commented. Another dish that caught their attention was papas a lo pobre, a traditional recipe that, as they explained, was once a way of using up leftover ingredients in the kitchen. This version includes stewed potatoes, meat, olives, hard-boiled egg, and peppers.
The gastronomic journey continued with tuna in salmorejo, one of the dishes they praised most highly. “I could eat tuna and goat meat and be the happiest man in the world,” declared Jonay. However, they warned that the dish has a spicy kick that won’t suit everyone. To round things off, they enjoyed the rice pudding, one of the homemade desserts on offer at the establishment.
Cosy atmosphere and great value
The tasca is located on the ground floor of a family home and is notable not just for its food but also for the warm, family-friendly atmosphere it provides to diners. Yet one of the aspects that most impressed the content creators was the price. They paid just €31.70 for the meal, including a complimentary dessert. The menu also features options such as garbanzas (chickpea stew), ropa vieja (shredded meat stew), and grilled cheese. As for fish, they noted that on a previous visit they enjoyed some cuttlefish “that was out of this world”, though it wasn’t available this time.

Tasca Los Palomeros is located at Calle Tahodio 1, in San Cristóbal de La Laguna (just above Alcampo).
