British band The Molotovs to play first ever Canary Islands shows

The Molotovs bring their high-energy rock to the Canary Islands

This coming June, the Canary Islands will welcome The Molotovs for the very first time. One of the fastest-rising bands on the international scene, the London group will play two exclusive shows in the archipelago: one at Sala Aguere in Tenerife and another at Sala Alboroto in Gran Canaria.

From street performances to sell-out Spanish dates

The band first visited Spain in December 2025, selling out four shows and shifting over 1,300 tickets with just four singles to their name. Now they return to the islands as one of the new sensations of British rock. Speaking about their upcoming trip, the band said: “We feel great! It’s like a holiday in many ways for us. It’s nice to get out of England.” As for what audiences can expect from their live show, they promise “three-minute films in the form of pop-quality songs.”

Formed by brothers, forged on the road

The Molotovs were formed by brothers Mathew and Issey Cartlidge, and have built their reputation on live performance. They started out playing on streets and in makeshift venues during the pandemic, and have since clocked up over 600 shows across Europe. They have shared bills with artists including Iggy Pop, Blondie, Sex Pistols, The Libertines and Yungblud, and received public endorsement from figures such as Paul Weller and Green Day.

Debut album a chart success

Their return to Spain comes just months after the release of Wasted On Youth (2026), their debut album on Marshall Records, produced by Jason Perry. The record entered the UK official album chart at number 3 and hit number 1 in downloads, underlining the band’s growing international appeal and cementing their live energy as one of their defining trademarks. Far from softening their sound, Wasted On Youth retains the blend of melodic punk, new wave and British power pop that marked their early releases: fast, direct songs packed with personality that resonate especially with a new generation of young listeners.
