From a musical bet to a Canarian phenomenon
What began as a musical gamble in Tenerife has become one of the Canary Islands’ biggest entertainment phenomena. The Tenerife Cook Music Fest will celebrate a historic edition from 16 to 18 July 2026, headlined by major names in Latin and urban music and a figure that confirms its explosive growth: all 40,000 tickets for Don Omar’s concert sold out in under an hour. Adding to that success is the latest addition to the bill, Lola Índigo, one of Spain’s most-streamed artists, who will perform on 16 July. The festival will bring together 14 international acts over three consecutive days at the port esplanade of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
Fifth anniversary edition
The Tenerife Cook Music Fest reaches its fifth anniversary in 2026, having established itself as one of the great summer musical events in the Canary Islands. This year’s edition follows a 2025 festival that drew more than 60,000 visitors, and expectations are even higher after the spectacular response to Don Omar. The Puerto Rican artist triggered one of the most talked-about announcements of recent weeks when he sold 40,000 tickets in less than an hour for his only confirmed date. That success has reinforced the organisers’ commitment to staging an internationally ambitious programme.
Lola Índigo joins the line-up
The latest act to join the roster is Lola Índigo, one of the most influential artists on the Spanish music scene. The singer will arrive in Tenerife on 16 July to deliver a show that promises to be one of the festival’s highlights. With millions of streams on digital platforms, multiple platinum records and a stage presence defined by dance and visual impact, she has cemented her status as an essential figure in pop and urban music.
A line-up spanning generations and genres
The 2026 edition brings together some of the most prominent names in Latin, urban and tropical music. Confirmed artists include Don Omar, Chayanne, Myke Towers, Farruko, Lola Índigo, Olga Tañón, Greeicy, Emily Estefan, Gente de Zona, Elvis Crespo, Luis Enrique, Tito Nieves, Sergio Vargas and Hermanos Rosario. The format allows festival-goers to enjoy three consecutive days of concerts in a single venue with just one wristband. The line-up stands out for its diversity of styles and generations. Myke Towers will headline the 16 July bill alongside Lola Índigo, while Chayanne will be one of the major attractions on the 17th. The final day will have a distinctly Caribbean flavour, featuring legendary artists from salsa, merengue and tropical music, including Luis Enrique, Sergio Vargas, Tito Nieves, Hermanos Rosario and Elvis Crespo. They will be joined by international acts such as Greeicy, one of Colombia’s most popular current artists, and Gente de Zona, global ambassadors of Cuban urban music.
Economic boost for Santa Cruz
The festival’s growth is also having a tangible impact on the local economy. The Santa Cruz de Tenerife Development Corporation has more than a hundred job vacancies open across various sectors that will provide services during the event, from hospitality and catering to logistics, transport and customer-facing roles. As preparations continue, the Cook Music Fest is gearing up for an edition that aims to surpass all its previous records and cement its position as one of the most important music festivals in the Canary Islands.
