On 26 September 1993, Michael Jackson performed in Santa Cruz de Tenerife as part of his Dangerous Tour, drawing around 50,000 fans to the port esplanade. Despite the city’s financial difficulties, the concert became a historic milestone for the Canary Islands. The event, which cost 327 million pesetas, is remembered as a night that put the archipelago on the world stage.

Colombian singer Beéle has officially announced his return to Tenerife on 25 July as part of his highly anticipated ‘Borondo Tour’. The concert will take place at the port esplanade in Santa Cruz de Tenerife under the Urban Beach Fest concept, featuring live music, urban dining and food trucks. The 23-year-old artist has become a major force in Latin urban music following global hits like ‘Loco’.

Antonio Resines will receive the inaugural Golden Rings Honorary Award in Santa Cruz de Tenerife on 20 June 2026. The prize recognises his four-decade career in over 30 series and his impact on Spanish television and film.

Three choirs, the Tenerife Federation of Music Bands and renowned organist Juan Luis Bardón will provide the musical liturgy for the Eucharist presided over by Pope Leo XIV in the port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife on Friday 12 June. The mass will feature the recovery of a historic work by Canarian composer Julio Navarro Grau, performed for the first time in its entirety last year.

The Northeast Film Festival is back for its third edition, turning the towns of Tejina, Valle de Guerra, Bajamar and Punta del Hidalgo into film sets. This year features a creative challenge to make a short film in seven days, plus a workshop with actor Fernando Cayo. The gala on 1 August will raise funds for charity.
