New summer flights from Tenerife: more routes, more destinations

Summer 2026 brings major boost to Tenerife flight connections

Travellers flying from Tenerife this summer can look forward to a host of new routes from the island’s airports, thanks to a push by several airlines to expand connections with mainland Spain and the rest of Europe. The 2026 summer season is delivering one of the biggest improvements in connectivity in recent years.

Airlines have strengthened their schedules with new direct routes, more frequent flights and the addition of previously unserved destinations across Europe and the Spanish mainland, cementing Tenerife’s position as a major Atlantic hub. The Cabildo of Tenerife has highlighted that this boost in connectivity will help diversify source markets, encourage year-round visitor arrivals and provide more travel options for residents wishing to fly from the island.

New European destinations and more flights to mainland Spain

Alongside the usual offering, new connections have been added to cities in Italy, Romania, the Czech Republic, Portugal and Sweden, as well as increased links with Madrid, Asturias, Valencia and Vigo. Whether for leisure or business, these four regions will see significantly more traffic to and from the island during the summer season.

Several airlines have expanded the range of flights available from Spain’s busiest airports. The airline now operates 11 daily flights and 74 weekly services between Madrid and Tenerife North and South airports. Flight time: approximately 2 hours 50 minutes. Average price: between €70 and €160.

Connections with the Principality of Asturias will run six days a week. Flight time: around 3 hours. Average price: between €130 and €260. Links with Valencia have also been strengthened for the summer thanks to two airlines. Flight time: around 3 hours. Average price: between €110 and €210.

The Canarian airline has increased its programme to Galicia, offering daily flights to Vigo. Flight time: around 3 hours. Average price: between €60 and €100. Must-see sights: the Casco Vello old town, the port, the Cíes Islands and the Ría de Vigo.

Existing air connections continue to operate with Valladolid, San Sebastián, Granada, Pamplona and Murcia. New flights have also been added to Seville and Badajoz.

Paris, Lisbon and more European cities on the map

On the European front, Tenerife will also be linked with major continental cities. Little needs to be said about the French capital. Air France is increasing its schedule to Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport throughout the summer, making it easy to visit. Flight time: around 4 hours 15 minutes. Average price: between €180 and €350. Visitors choosing this option can explore iconic landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, the Louvre Museum and the Champs-Élysées, or wander through Montmartre and other quintessentially Parisian neighbourhoods.

The Portuguese airline is expanding its offering to four weekly flights connecting Tenerife with the Portuguese capital. Flight time: approximately 2 hours 30 minutes. Average price: between €120 and €240. While you may fly in, the city’s most famous form of transport remains the iconic Tram 28. Lisbon is a beautiful city where you can easily spend a few days unwinding.

More routes on the horizon for autumn and winter

In addition to these new services, the Cabildo has confirmed that connectivity will continue to grow in the coming months. From autumn, Air Canada will launch direct flights between Tenerife and Toronto and Montreal. Air Serbia will inaugurate its connection with Belgrade, while airBaltic will introduce new routes to Ljubljana, Liège, Palanga and Groningen during the winter season, further expanding travel possibilities from the island.
