A lorry caught fire in the late afternoon on Monday, 22 June, in Sardina de Gáldar, prompting an emergency response from the Gran Canaria Emergency Consortium’s fire service.
Crews were dispatched to the scene after receiving the alert and managed to bring the flames under control, preventing the fire from spreading further in the affected area.
Incident in northern Gran Canaria
The incident took place in Sardina de Gáldar, a coastal locality in the municipality of Gáldar, in the north of Gran Canaria. At this stage, the circumstances that caused the lorry to catch fire have not been revealed.
Fire brought under control
The intervention focused on controlling the flames and securing the surrounding area once the affected vehicle was located. After the firefighters arrived, the fire was extinguished without further incident.
