Cook Music Fest 2026: Tenerife gears up for three-day music extravaganza

Countdown to the Cook Music Fest 2026

With just one day to go before the curtain rises on Tenerife’s biggest fashion and music festival, excitement is reaching fever pitch. The Cook Music Fest 2026 begins on Thursday 16 July, embarking on a three-day run that will see some of the biggest names in Latin music touch down on the island to get over 100,000 expected attendees dancing. Don Omar, Myke Towers, Chayanne, Elvis Crespo, Tito Nieves and Gente de Zona are just a few of the artists gracing the line-up across the three days. And, as ever, the festival’s talismanic Puerto Rican star Olga Tañón will be there — she took part in the official launch on Wednesday alongside Emily Estefan, with both set to perform on the Friday.

What to expect at the festival

The Cook Music Fest 2026 will be held across a sprawling 60,000-square-metre site in the port area of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Alongside stellar live music, revellers can enjoy a giant Ferris wheel, a market zone offering tattoos, makeup and accessories, and a food court with over 20 stalls serving Canarian and international cuisine. The musical programme is split into three distinct vibes: Urban Mood (Thursday 16 July), Latin Mood (Friday 17 July) and Tropical Mood (Saturday 18 July).

Official launch attracts top names

An event of this magnitude called for a grand official launch, which took place on Wednesday with island authorities, organisers and several artists in attendance. Among those present were Rosa Dávila, President of the Cabildo of Tenerife; Lope Afonso, Vice-President and Tourism Councillor; José Manuel Bermúdez, Mayor of Santa Cruz de Tenerife; Dimple Melwani, CEO of Turismo de Tenerife; José Manuel Sanabria, Deputy Minister for Tourism of the Canary Islands Government; Pedro Suárez, President of the Port Authority of Santa Cruz de Tenerife; and David Mille, Director General for Trade and Consumer Affairs of the Canary Islands Government, alongside festival promoter José María de la Cova.

They were joined by Krysten Martín, CEO for Trade and Business Support at the Cabildo of Tenerife; Gladys de León, Councillor for Security, Mobility and Universal Accessibility at Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council; Javier Caraballero, Councillor for Festive and Recreational Activities; and Carmen Pérez, CEO of the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Development Society — as well as, of course, Olga Tañón and Emily Estefan.

Island leaders hail festival’s impact

Rosa Dávila stressed that the Tenerife Cook Music Festival “is now part of the island’s cultural identity” and underlined that this edition “also symbolises the alliance between Tenerife and Puerto Rico, two brother peoples who share the same way of understanding culture, hospitality and music.” Dávila recalled that the previous edition generated an economic impact of over €10 million in the Canary Islands and said that every visitor “is an opportunity to generate economic activity, employment and wealth for Tenerife.” She reaffirmed the Cabildo’s commitment to an event that projects an image of the island as “modern, dynamic and capable of organising major international events.”

Lope Afonso noted: “The festival has established itself as one of the great events in the island’s calendar and is a magnificent example of how culture and music become engines of tourism promotion. This festival projects the image of Tenerife as a modern, dynamic destination capable of hosting world-class events.” He added: “Holding events of this magnitude generates a significant economic impact on sectors such as accommodation, catering, commerce and transport, while also helping to diversify our tourism offering and attract visitors throughout the year.”

José Manuel Bermúdez pointed out: “Cook Music Fest has become an unmissable date in the Canary Islands cultural calendar. It is an international showcase for our city and proof that Santa Cruz de Tenerife has the capacity, infrastructure and human talent needed to host major, top-level events.” He added: “This is a festival that also brings us employment and economic activity. For this edition alone, the festival will generate 600 direct jobs, most of them taken by young people from our island who, in many cases, are experiencing their first contact with the labour market here.”

Krysten Martín highlighted: “Cook Music Fest has established itself as an important event for commerce and economic revitalisation in Tenerife. With the Cabildo’s support, the festival attracts thousands of visitors, generating opportunities for local businesses and companies. Its celebration contributes to strengthening the island’s cultural and tourism offering. The positive impact of Cook Music Fest reinforces Tenerife’s image as a benchmark destination for major events.”

For his part, José María de la Cova thanked the institutional support and highlighted the significance of this edition: “Reaching the fifth anniversary with the largest private event ever held in the Canary Islands is a source of enormous pride. Tenerife is going to experience three historic nights of live music, and that is only possible thanks to the support of the institutions, the sponsors and, above all, a public that has made this festival their own from day one.”

Ticket information

With just hours to go until one of the most eagerly awaited musical events of the summer, the last remaining tickets are still on sale. All tickets for Thursday’s show are already sold out. In fact, on Monday 13 July, 200 extra tickets were released for the day Don Omar is performing — and they sold out in just 10 minutes.
