Binter and Cantur host Tenerife travel agent event
Binter and Cantur, the public company responsible for tourism promotion in the Government of Cantabria, held a professional meeting in Tenerife aimed at travel agents to promote the direct air link between the Canary Islands and Santander. The event took place at the Hotel Iberostar Heritage Grand Mencey in Santa Cruz de Tenerife and brought together around 100 representatives from 25 travel agencies based on the island.
Cantabria’s strengths and direct flight options
During the session, the main attractions of Cantabria as a destination were presented, along with the opportunities offered by the air route operated by Binter. The airline connects the Canary Islands with Santander every day of the week through direct flights from Tenerife North, Gran Canaria and Lanzarote. Both Binter and Cantur stressed the importance of further strengthening collaboration between institutions and the tourism sector to boost traveller numbers to Cantabria.
Travel agents: essential in a digital age
The gathering highlighted the role of travel agents as key influencers in designing personalised tourism experiences. Organisers underlined how vital these professionals remain in an increasingly digital landscape, where their expert advice and knowledge of the customer continue to be a distinguishing factor.
Binter network growth and networking programme
The event also reviewed the evolution of Binter’s network, which currently reaches 21 domestic and 10 international destinations, consolidating its role as an aerial bridge between the Canary Islands and various markets. The programme included institutional presentations, an awards ceremony and a networking session for attendees, accompanied by catering inspired by Cantabrian cuisine.
With this initiative, Binter and Cantur reinforce their joint strategy to boost air connectivity and generate new travel opportunities between the Canary Islands and Cantabria, encouraging the tourism development of both regions.
