Overnight closure on the GC-1 southbound
The Department of Public Works, through the Directorate General of Road Infrastructure, has announced disruption to traffic on the GC-1/AM southbound, at the Belén María roundabout, due to resurfacing work forming part of the Soterramiento Belén María project. The carriageway will be closed to traffic this Monday, 5 October, between 22.00 and 06.00.
Which stretch is affected
The work will affect the 300 metres of the GC-1/AM southbound closest to the Belén María roundabout, as well as Calle José Guerra Navarro, which provides access to the El Puerto health centre from the GC-1/AM.
During this period, vehicles travelling from El Puerto and El Sebadal will be able to join the GC-1/AM via Calle Gran Canaria as an alternative route. Emergency vehicles, meanwhile, will access the El Puerto health centre via Calle Juan Rejón.
Advice for drivers
The regional Department of Public Works advises drivers to plan their journeys in light of these temporary disruptions and to stay alert to the signage installed around the works.
The resurfacing forms part of the measures set out in the project to bury the Avenida Marítima and improve the Belén María–Torre Las Palmas links, which includes the necessary arrangements to guarantee traffic flow and establish alternative routes while the works are carried out.
