The Cabildo of Tenerife will open the new Padre Anchieta footbridge to the public this Monday, a project aimed at easing traffic congestion on the TF-5 motorway. Originally budgeted at just over 8 million euros, the final cost has exceeded 13 million euros, with the works having begun in 2021. The inauguration ceremony will take place at 9:00 am, with public access permitted from 10:30 am.

The evacuation of the MV Hondius cruise ship at the Port of Granadilla in Tenerife has undergone a last-minute change in its air logistics. All 22 remaining passengers will now travel together on a single flight to the Netherlands. The change follows technical problems with the aircraft due to arrive from Australia.

Teenagers in Tenerife aged 17 will soon be able to get a full driving licence, following a new EU directive. However, they will not be allowed to drive alone until they turn 18, and must be accompanied by an experienced driver at all times. The change, based on the German model, aims to improve road safety for novice drivers.

Tenerife is set for a major connectivity boost in 2026 with new international routes from Air Canada, airBaltic and Air Serbia. The island will welcome direct flights from Toronto, Montreal, and several European cities, strengthening its position as a year-round destination.
