Plus Ultra returns to Venezuela
Plus Ultra will resume flights to Simón Bolívar International Airport in Maiquetía, Caracas (Venezuela) from Tenerife and Madrid on 8 September, with services continuing until 24 October. The airline will also maintain its Monday flights between Madrid and Valencia (Venezuela).
Specifically, the connection between Madrid and the Venezuelan capital will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays, while the Caracas-Tenerife Norte route will depart from the Venezuelan city on Saturdays and from the Canary Island on Sundays.
“We continue to work in coordination with the Venezuelan authorities to restore operational normality on our routes to the country. We will communicate any developments through the usual channels,” the airline said in a statement.
Other airlines resume operations
Meanwhile, Air Europa and Iberia have already resumed operations to Caracas this week, coinciding with the reactivation of activity at Simón Bolívar International Airport in Maiquetía last Tuesday.
Francisco Garcés, president of the Presidential Commission for the Evaluation of Infrastructure Habitability, reported that temporary terminals have been set up, covering more than 10,000 square metres for public use and representing 25% of the terminal’s usual operational capacity.
Other carriers have also resumed services: American Airlines recently restarted its direct flights between Miami and Caracas, while Copa Airlines has reactivated its connections with the Caribbean city, reaching 29 weekly frequencies between Panama and the Latin American country.
