A magnitude 3.0 earthquake has been recorded west of Lanzarote, according to the Instituto Geográfico Nacional (IGN).
Tremor struck shortly after 11am
The IGN located the quake on Thursday, 17 September. According to data published by the institute on its X profile, the tremor occurred at 11.20am local time at a depth of 30 kilometres, with its epicentre in the Atlantic Ocean.
No reports of the quake being felt
So far there have been no reports that the earthquake was felt by the island’s population.
In February this year, a magnitude 2.7 mbLg earthquake was recorded in the same area.
