Sunday, 28 June, brings a familiar mix across the Canary Islands: cloudy skies in the north of the mountainous islands, a moderate trade wind that will pick up significantly by the afternoon, and mostly clear skies elsewhere. A few light, scattered drops are possible in the midlands during the morning, but they won’t amount to much.
General conditions
Maximum temperatures will rise in inland areas of the south and west-facing slopes of the mountainous islands, as well as in the southern interior of Fuerteventura. Minimum temperatures will remain stable.
The trade wind will be moderate, accelerating in the afternoon across the southeast and northwest slopes. Locally very strong gusts—over 70 km/h—are likely in these areas. Light breezes will prevail on the southwest coasts of the mountainous islands, while a light easterly wind will blow at the summits.
At sea, expect rough to very rough conditions on coasts open to the north and along the western shores of Fuerteventura and Lanzarote, with waves over 1.5 metres. More sheltered southern coasts will see areas of rough seas.
