canary islands weather saturday june 27

Saturday: clouds, a few spots of rain, and strong gusts

Saturday: clouds gather, but the summer warmth stays

A rather typical June Saturday is on the cards across the Canary Islands. Clouds will build up on the northern slopes of the mountainous islands, with a chance of a few light and patchy spots of drizzle overnight. By midday, sunny breaks will appear, especially on Gran Canaria. Inland areas of the western islands will see local afternoon clouds bubble up, possibly producing a few isolated drops of rain.

On the whole, Fuerteventura and Lanzarote will enjoy mostly clear skies, although the north and west coasts may see some variable cloud cover. Elsewhere, expect largely clear or sunny conditions.

Winds and the Atlantic

A light to moderate northerly breeze will shift to the northeast and strengthen through the afternoon. The southeast and northwest slopes of La Gomera, Tenerife, and Gran Canaria could see localised very strong gusts. Out on the Atlantic, the northern coasts will have a rough ocean with waves around 1 metre, while the more sheltered southern shores will stay calm, with waves barely reaching 0.5 metres.
