Air France to launch weekly Paris-Tenerife South connection this winter
Air France will launch a weekly connection between Paris and Tenerife South airport this winter season. The new route forms part of the French airline’s expansion of its offer to Spain and Portugal, where it will increase the number of available seats by 5% compared with the previous winter.
The company announced its plans for the season on Tuesday. The winter schedule began last weekend and will run until the end of March.
Boost for the Iberian Peninsula
Among the main new features for the Iberian Peninsula are the weekly flight between the French capital and the south of Tenerife, along with an increase in connections with Porto, which will have two flights a day. The new route widens the options for air links between Tenerife and Paris during the winter months, a period in which airlines adapt their operations to demand for travel between European destinations.
More capacity to South America
Air France’s expansion is not limited to Spain and Portugal. The company will also increase its capacity to South America by 3%, with particular attention to Brazil. From 21 December, the airline will operate two daily flights between Paris and Rio de Janeiro. It will also schedule a daily connection during peak demand periods between the French capital and Fortaleza.
The route to Salvador de Bahia will add two extra weekly flights from 18 January 2027, while the link between Paris and Santiago de Chile will reach ten weekly frequencies.
Extra flights to the Caribbean and North America
The Dominican Republic will also have more connections. Air France plans to operate three weekly flights between 30 November 2026 and 1 May 2027. On routes to North America, the company will increase the number of available seats by 6% and maintain connections with a total of 23 destinations.
Changes on routes to Asia and Africa
The winter schedule also includes changes to flights to Asia. The main novelty will be the increase in connections with Phuket, in Thailand, which will rise from three to five weekly flights from Paris. In Africa, Air France will raise the frequency of its flights to Tanzania. The airline will offer a daily connection with Kilimanjaro and Zanzibar, compared with the five weekly frequencies it scheduled during the previous winter.
Domestic routes within France
Within France, the company will maintain a extensive offer from Charles de Gaulle airport, with eleven daily connections to Toulouse, ten to Nice and nine to Marseille. These routes will be joined by flights operated from Orly airport by Transavia, the group’s low-cost subsidiary.
