Fuerteventura’s largest resort set to open its doors

Anjoca Grupo Empresarial will open the Elba Corralejo Resort Spa on 1 November, the largest resort in Fuerteventura, featuring 478 rooms and a thousand beds, which will be operated by the Hoteles Elba chain. The establishment will become the brand’s seventh hotel on the island and its tenth across the archipelago as a whole, and will allow for the creation of 400 direct jobs, the company announced in a statement on Wednesday.

A two-year build beside the Corralejo dunes

Construction of the resort began two years ago in the tourist town of Corralejo, in the north of Fuerteventura, and it is located close to the Corralejo Dunes Natural Park. The Elba Corralejo Resort Spa stands on a 60,000-square-metre plot and, once inaugurated, will add close to 1,000 new tourist beds to Fuerteventura’s accommodation offering.

24 pools, seven restaurants and an adults-only area

The establishment will offer 16,000 square metres of tropical gardens and recreation areas. Its accommodation and leisure offering will include 24 pools, seven restaurants and bars, a wellness centre with health and beauty treatments, a fitness area and an exclusive adults-only zone, as well as 52 swim-up rooms and 15 Junior Suites with a private pool and sun terrace.

A new tourist hub for the Canary Islands

According to the president of Anjoca, Ángel Jove González, the opening of the Elba Corralejo Resort Spa represents a milestone for Anjoca and for Hoteles Elba, both because of the scale of the project and its strategic importance in creating a new pole of tourist attraction in the Canary Islands. “Our commitment to the destinations where we establish ourselves is long term and, in the case of Fuerteventura, we maintain a particularly close relationship, based on generating economic activity, employment and a firm commitment to the island,” he said.
