Strategic agreement signed to develop enotourism
Cajasiete and the Canary Islands Wine Tourism Cluster have formalised a collaboration agreement aimed at boosting wine-related tourism across the islands and strengthening its contribution to the archipelago’s economy, culture and tourist activity. The deal was signed by Cajasiete’s managing director, Luis Alberto Díaz Dorta, and the manager of the Canary Islands Wine Tourism Cluster, Hernán Tejera Oval.
What the wine tourism cluster does
The cluster brings together wineries, tourism businesses, public administrations and sector professionals with the goal of promoting wine tourism in the Canary Islands. To this end, it coordinates initiatives related to the archipelago’s traditional viticulture, including guided vineyard tours, tastings, routes through wine-growing landscapes and cultural activities.
Economic and cultural impact
The agreement will support projects aimed at consolidating wine tourism as a tool for economic and tourist diversification across the islands. The partnership seeks to improve the sector’s competitiveness, revitalise rural areas, generate employment, reinforce cultural identity and attract visitors interested in experiences linked to wine and the local landscape.
Promotion and events planned
The collaboration will also facilitate the organisation and promotion of wine routes, training days, specialist fairs, grape harvest-related events and marketing campaigns in new markets.

Luis Alberto Díaz Dorta highlighted that the agreement reinforces Cajasiete’s commitment to the economic and social development of the Canary Islands by supporting initiatives that showcase the territory, culture and strategic sectors of the archipelago. “Wine tourism represents an opportunity to generate new dynamics of sustainable growth, strengthen rural areas and project the uniqueness of the Canary Islands both at home and abroad,” the entity’s managing director said.
Hernán Tejera Oval, for his part, stressed that the collaboration will allow the continued development of projects to consolidate wine tourism as a tool for local, cultural and economic progress. “This alliance helps us reinforce the visibility of the sector, generate synergies between the agents involved and move forward in creating valuable experiences linked to wine, the landscape and Canarian identity,” he stated.
