Wednesday: a warm and sunny day ahead
Wednesday is set to be a bright and warm day across the Canary Islands. Temperatures are climbing across the archipelago, with plenty of sunshine and only a few clouds that will clear as the day goes on. The trade winds will return on Thursday, but for now, it’s a calm and settled picture.
Winds are light to moderate, picking up slightly towards the evening. The Atlantic is calm, with waves around one metre on northern coasts and a slightly choppy ocean of about half a metre in the south.
Island-by-island forecast
Tenerife
Mostly clear skies, with only a few clouds possible around the Anaga mountains. Winds will strengthen later in the day and temperatures will rise. A warm, sunny one.
Gran Canaria
Sunshine is expected across the summit and southern parts of the island. Winds will pick up in the afternoon, and temperatures are rising moderately. A pleasant day overall.
Lanzarote
Scattered clouds in the north early and late in the day, but they won’t last. A light ocean breeze blowing, with temperatures in Arrecife ranging from 21°C to 27°C.
Fuerteventura
Some clouds on the eastern side at sunrise, but the rest of the day will be clear. Temperatures in the capital will sit between 21°C and 28°C.
La Palma
Cloud cover will decrease through the day, with a light wind blowing. Temperatures in Santa Cruz de la Palma will range from 21°C to 27°C.
La Gomera
Sunshine in the south, little wind, and rising temperatures. A calm, warm day across the island.
El Hierro
In Valverde, temperatures will range from 19°C to 25°C. No significant cloud cover expected throughout the day.
La Graciosa
A few low clouds at sunrise, but the rest of the day will be clear. Winds and temperatures will pick up as the afternoon progresses.
