Mandi Murray, a 46-year-old woman from Scotland, died after suffering a heart attack just one day after arriving on the Canary Island for a holiday. Family pays tribute on social media

Her family have paid tribute to her memory on social media, highlighting her warm nature, her devotion to loved ones and the profound void left by her loss. Mandi, originally from Glasgow, had travelled to Lanzarote for a few days of rest. However, according to her family, she suffered a heart attack while on the island and passed away peacefully on 28 May.

The mother was well known in her community. She worked as an access controller at The Ferry concert hall and was a passionate supporter of Celtic FC and the Scotland national team. The sudden loss has prompted a wave of condolence messages on social media, where friends and loved ones have shared memories and expressions of affection.

Son’s emotional farewell

One of the most widely shared tributes came from her son Steven, who remembered his mother as far more than a family figure. “I woke up today thinking about my mum and realised she was not only my biggest critic, she was also one of my best friends,” he wrote. In his message, he emphasised Mandi’s family-oriented nature, her honesty and the long conversations they would share into the early hours of the morning. In just a few hours, the campaign surpassed £1,780 thanks to contributions from friends, family and others wishing to show their support.
