Tenerife Home Renovation Fair Opens to Public

Your Home Transformation Awaits at Renueva Hogar

They say there’s nothing worse than starting home renovations. It all begins with the best of intentions and often ends with delays, budget overruns, and a few results that don’t quite meet the homeowner’s expectations. If you’ve considered the potential pitfalls of giving your home a makeover and still want to proceed, then Renueva Hogar is the perfect event for you. This fair is tailor-made for anyone looking to completely transform their property. It opened yesterday at the Recinto Ferial in Tenerife’s capital and will remain open until this Sunday. The best estimates suggest visitor numbers could exceed 10,000.

A Hub for Serious Home Improvers

From mattresses and pergolas to hot tubs, the fair’s offerings are attracting not just casual visitors looking for a weekend activity, but also serious potential clients who currently have their hearts set on a ‘facelift’ for their home. A key piece of advice: before starting any project, arm yourself with patience, have your chequebook ready, and, above all, trust in the best professionals. Yesterday, for instance, the atmosphere at the exhibition centre was a little quiet, but all signs point to a surge in visitors over the coming hours, particularly during Saturday and Sunday.

Officials Hail Economic and Industrial Impact

The Vice-President of the Tenerife Island Council, Lope Afonso, was responsible for inaugurating the second edition of Renueva Hogar, the Canary Islands’ leading event dedicated to home renovation and modernisation. One of the first points the Popular Party official made concerned the economic activity generated by this sector. “The strategic roadmap we promote from the island institution reflects an administration that believes in public-private collaboration to stimulate the island’s economy and generate specialised employment,” explained Lope Afonso, “with the goal of consolidating Tenerife as a land of opportunity for businesses and solutions for citizens.”

In this regard, he emphasised that the construction sector is “a pillar of our economy, one that bets on continuous innovation, sustainability, and adds great value, mobilising employment opportunities.” The Island Councillor for Industry, Manuel Fernández, highlighted in his speech the role of the construction sector as an industrial engine. “We support this Fair because the renovation and furnishing sector is a fundamental pillar of our local industry,” he stated, adding that “with this event, Tenerife becomes a benchmark in this economic sector.”

Innovation and Expert Advice Under One Roof

Fernández also encouraged people to visit “a space where 45 companies show that cutting-edge innovation is present in Tenerife, from home automation to renewable energy, offering the end consumer the security of hiring professionals who meet the highest standards.” The President of the Tenerife Builders’ Association, Óscar Izquierdo, expressed similar sentiments, noting without hesitation that “this fair offers tangible answers to the demand for housing improvement on the Island.”

Renueva Hogar can be visited until Sunday, and attendees can access a comprehensive offering free of charge, covering everything from carpentry, painting, and climate control to prefabricated houses and security systems. The event responds to a real need detected in the market, allowing citizens to compare options and receive specialised advice in a single meeting point: the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Exhibition Centre.

Beyond the commercial area, the programme includes technical talks on the Anti-Crisis Plan for energy efficiency, property advice, and demonstrations of sustainable solutions to improve your home’s performance, cementing the fair’s status as a space for training and knowledge sharing.
