Easter Weather Outlook: Uncertainty and Potential Showers
The State Meteorological Agency’s (Aemet) forecast for Easter week in Tenerife is marked by “uncertainty in the prediction,” though some key trends are beginning to emerge. According to Aemet, the first models point to a stable scenario, with the possibility of rain across the entire archipelago and temperatures somewhat lower than usual. Easter week, which this year runs from 30 March to 5 April, could be accompanied by calmer weather than is typical for the period.
What to Expect During the Holiday Period
Nevertheless, occasional or weak precipitation in the Canary Islands has not been ruled out, while thermometers will hover around seasonal values or slightly below. This means a particularly rainy period is not expected, although isolated showers could appear, which is common in the islands during spring. In any case, Aemet reminds the public that this is “a short-term forecast and the prediction could change considerably in future updates.”
The Week Before Easter: Storm Therese’s Influence
Before the start of Easter week, the weather in Tenerife will be influenced by storm Therese. During the week of 23 to 29 March, locally heavy and persistent rain is expected in the Canaries at the beginning of the week. From Tuesday onwards, the precipitation will tend to lose intensity. Temperatures will be mild, with a cool atmosphere in the early morning and warmer conditions at midday and in the afternoon.
