A Salvamento Marítimo helicopter has evacuated a 62-year-old American passenger from the Scarlet Lady cruise ship to Tenerife North airport following a medical emergency. Spain’s Council of Ministers has approved a Royal Decree granting the Canary Islands €47.5 million to fund free public transport in 2026, the same amount as last year. The funding also covers Madrid, Barcelona and Valencia, and beneficiaries will have ten working days to apply once it takes effect.
