Fuerteventura has launched its annual protection and rescue campaign for juvenile Cory’s shearwaters, which are at risk of becoming disoriented by artificial light during their first nocturnal flights. A new non-profit foundation, Fundación Canaria Islas Verdes, has been launched in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria to tackle climate change from and for the Canary Islands. Its director says it was born to “work in a positive way” and build projects through collaboration between society, business and institutions.
