A cloudy Sunday with a chance of light drizzle
Sunday is shaping up to be a rather cloudy day across the Canary Islands, especially on the more mountainous islands. Variable cloud cover will build through midday and into the afternoon, particularly over inland areas and on northern and eastern slopes, where a few light and scattered showers cannot be ruled out. High-altitude clouds will also drift across the archipelago from northwest to southeast throughout the day.
General outlook: temperatures and winds
Temperatures are not expected to change much from Saturday. The only exception is Tenerife, where maximums will drop slightly on the eastern, northern, and western slopes. Winds will be light and from the west across the western islands, and light from the north on the eastern islands. Coastal areas will see a typical light ocean breeze. However, on Tenerife’s high peaks, the wind will be strong from the southwest, with locally very strong gusts possible.
As for the Atlantic, an ocean swell from the northwest will affect coasts open to the north and the western shores of El Hierro, La Palma, La Gomera, Tenerife, Fuerteventura, and Lanzarote, with waves potentially reaching 2 metres. Elsewhere, waves will barely exceed 0.5 metres.

Tenerife
Cloudy intervals will turn into overcast skies over inland, northern, and eastern areas, where local clouds could produce light, scattered rain. A light westerly wind with a predominance of breezes, except on the peaks where it will be strong from the southwest with locally very strong gusts. Maximum temperature of 23°C in the capital.
Gran Canaria
Cloudy intervals in the morning giving way to overcast skies by the afternoon, with light and occasional rain possible inland, and on the north and east coasts. High-altitude clouds all day. Light northerly wind with a predominance of breezes. Temperatures between 17°C and 22°C in the capital.
Lanzarote
Cloudy intervals, though the east will remain overcast. Patches of high-altitude clouds. Light northerly wind. Maximum temperature around 23°C in Arrecife.
Fuerteventura
Cloudy intervals turning mostly clear with some high-altitude clouds, except in the east and north where it will stay cloudy. Light northerly wind with a predominance of breezes. Maximum temperatures between 20°C and 24°C.
La Palma
Cloudy intervals in the morning turning overcast or very cloudy by the afternoon. Light and occasional rain possible in the north and east during the early and late hours. Light westerly wind. Maximum temperature around 21°C in the capital.
La Gomera
Overcast skies turning mostly clear in the west and south. A stray drop cannot be ruled out inland. Light westerly wind. Breezes on the coasts. Maximum temperatures between 19°C and 23°C on the coast.
El Hierro
Cloudy intervals turning overcast inland and in the east. Light westerly wind. Breezes on the coasts and pleasant temperatures.
La Graciosa
Variable cloud cover with patches of high-altitude clouds. A predominance of breezes during the morning. Temperatures between 16°C and 23°C in Caleta de Sebo.
