canary islands weather sunday 3 may

Sunday: mostly clear skies and spring warmth

Sunday kicks off a settled spell

The Canary Islands are enjoying a classic spring Sunday. It’s mostly clear across the archipelago, with variable cloud cover in the north and east during the early morning and again late in the day. A few local afternoon clouds may bubble up in the interior of the western islands around midday, and there will be patches of high cloud floating by.

Pleasant temperatures across the board

Temperatures are on the rise, especially in the midlands and summits of the western islands. Elsewhere, expect no major changes. Coastal highs range between 19°C and 25°C – perfect for a day out. The trade wind is light over the western islands, but moderate in the east, where stronger gusts are possible on exposed slopes (northwest-southeast orientations). On Tenerife’s peaks, a moderate westerly wind is blowing.

Over the Ocean, a northwesterly ocean swell from the open Atlantic is hitting northern and western coasts, with waves staying below 1.5 metres. On the more sheltered southern and eastern shores, conditions are calm and slightly choppy, with waves not exceeding 0.5 metres.
