canary islands weather 10 june 2026

Wednesday: clouds, rain, and easing winds

Wednesday: clouds and a few drops before the sun breaks through

The Canary Islands are in for a mixed Wednesday (10 June), with plenty of cloud cover on the northern slopes of the mountainous islands and a chance of light, patchy rain overnight and into the early morning. By midday, skies should clear across most of the archipelago, especially on the eastern islands.

Winds remain strong — gusts could once again top 70 km/h in exposed spots — but they are expected to ease significantly on Thursday and Friday. Temperatures will dip slightly, particularly daytime highs, before bouncing back later in the week.

Ocean conditions

The Atlantic will be rough along northern coasts, with waves around two metres high. Southern coasts will see slightly choppy conditions, with some areas of rough ocean. In the channels between islands, waves could exceed two metres. Conditions are set to improve on Thursday.

Island-by-island forecast

Tenerife

Cloudy start on the northern side of the island, with some light rainfall possible during the morning. Winds will remain noticeable along the eastern coast. Mostly clear skies elsewhere.

Gran Canaria

Strong gusts continue in areas like La Aldea and Agüimes. Northern cloud cover may produce a few isolated drops of rain. Temperatures in the capital will range from 20°C to 23°C.

Lanzarote

Low cloud early on, mainly in the north, but this will clear through the morning. Sunshine will take over, with moderate winds. Temperatures holding steady.

Fuerteventura

Cloudy at dawn, but clearing quickly. Moderate trade winds. Temperatures in Puerto del Rosario between 18°C and 25°C.

La Palma

Low clouds in the north and east, with a chance of a few drops early, while the summit and other areas stay clear. Gusty winds in exposed spots could reach 80 km/h.

La Gomera

Gusty winds on both sides of the island. Clouds limited to the north; otherwise, plenty of sunshine. Temperatures in San Sebastián between 19°C and 24°C.

El Hierro

Clouds in the north-northeast, with the possibility of a stray drop overnight. The day will brighten up, but strong winds continue in exposed areas.

La Graciosa

A relatively clear day, despite some early cloud cover. Trade winds will ease through the afternoon. Temperatures similar to the rest of the eastern islands.

Looking ahead, Thursday and Friday promise drier, less windy conditions with rising temperatures across the board.
