Fortune smiles on Tenerife again
Lady Luck has once again paid a visit to Tenerife, this time thanks to the Bonoloto lottery. A first-category ticket (six correct numbers) from Saturday’s draw, held on 5 September, was validated at a sales point in Los Realejos, located at Calle Doctor González, 6, according to state lottery operator Loterías y Apuestas del Estado (LAE).
The winning combination was 17 23 32 33 36 42, with complementary number 1 and reimbursement number 0. The lucky ticket holder will take home a handsome €1,319,441. In addition to Tenerife, the prize also landed in Álava on the mainland. No other prize categories were awarded on this occasion.
How the Bonoloto works
The Bonoloto draw takes place every day of the week. Each ticket consists of eight columns, with numbers ranging from 1 to 49. For every draw, six balls are pulled from the main drum, plus one extra ball from a second drum which corresponds to the reimbursement number.
Players can participate through either a simple or a multiple bet. With a simple bet, each player fills in as many columns as the number of bets they wish to place, marking six numbers on each. With a multiple bet, numbers are only marked on a single column, and depending on how many bets you want to place, you select a different quantity of numbers from the following options:
If you tick the box for 44 bets, you must select 5 numbers in the first block. The set formed by those five chosen numbers plays against each of the remaining numbers in the block, creating 44 sets of six predictions, in other words, 44 bets.
If you tick the box for 7 bets, you must select 7 numbers in the first block. If you tick the box for 28 bets, you must select 8 numbers. If you tick the box for 84 bets, you must select 9 numbers. If you tick the box for 210 bets, you must select 10 numbers. If you tick the box for 462 bets, you must select 11 numbers.
Ticket prices and prize structure
Each bet costs 50 cents, and the minimum price for a full ticket is €1. This means that if your ticket is for a single draw, it must include at least 2 bets (50 cents x 2 bets x 1 draw = €1). If your ticket covers two or more draws (weekly entry), it can include as little as one single bet (50 cents x 1 bet x 2 draws = €1).
A total of 55 per cent of Bonoloto’s revenue is allocated to prizes, distributed across the following categories:
1st Category: matching all 6 numbers of the winning combination.
2nd Category: matching 5 numbers of the winning combination plus the complementary number.
3rd Category: matching 5 numbers of the winning combination.
4th Category: matching 4 numbers of the winning combination.
5th Category: matching 3 numbers of the winning combination.
Reimbursement: awarded if the designated prize number matches the one on your ticket, and it refers to the total amount of bets in which you have participated.
Weekly draw: the reimbursement for the weekly subscription is drawn each day, with the prize corresponding to the value of the daily bet.
Daily draw: the reimbursement for daily participation is determined by the winning digit from the draw on the day of participation.
