Free guided tours to showcase La Laguna’s hidden gems
La Laguna is strengthening its sustainable tourism offering this August and September with three free guided tours exploring some of the municipality’s key coastal and inland landmarks. Organised by the tourism department, the programme blends heritage, nature, history and community involvement, with the aim of offering a fresh way to discover the area while boosting both coastal and rural communities.
Water, music and mountains on the agenda
The line-up includes the third edition of the Ruta del Agua de Bajamar, a walk tracing the historical evolution of this seaside enclave through water. Stops include the natural swimming pools, the Isogue Ravine and the palm grove. Also returning is Mar, Música y Montaña in Punta del Hidalgo, which highlights the area’s relationship with the sea, its musical traditions and the surrounding landscape.
The third offering, Turismo en Positivo, is an interpretive hiking programme combining biodiversity, heritage, local gastronomy and environmental awareness. Routes take in locations such as El Batán, La Laguna’s historic centre and Bajamar.
High demand for places
Acting tourism councillor Fran Hernández said the activities offer a “close, respectful and enriching” way to experience the municipality. Demand has been high, with places already sold out for several of the routes.
