A weekend of culture, music and tradition in Tenerife

Tenerife remains full of activities at the weekends, thanks to a combined public and private effort to keep the Island entertained. Traditions, cinema and great music all feature in the programme for the coming days. If you were thinking of staying at home, you might want to start rummaging through your wardrobe to decide what to wear, because you will not be able to resist attending one of these events.

Award-winning Argentine cinema at TEA

The Tenerife Espacio de las Artes (TEA) is screening Las corrientes this weekend at 7:00 pm. This is the third feature film from Argentine filmmaker Milagros Mumenthaler, winner of the RTVE-Otra Mirada Award at the last San Sebastián Festival, where it also formed part of the official competition. An atmosphere of magnetic intensity, the film centres on the captivating and enigmatic performance of Isabel Aimé Gonzalez-Sola as Lina, a woman who appears to have a happy and stable life but suddenly feels the urgent need to escape from it all. The film will be shown in its original Spanish version.

Fiestas in honour of the Patron Saint of Candelaria

Candelaria is enjoying its first weekend of events in honour of the island’s Patron Saint, with concerts from Café Quijano and Los Cantadores. Saturday sees the turn of the band from León, who will present their ‘Miami 1990 tour’ at 9:30 pm at the venue next to the Town Hall. On Sunday, at the same time and in the same location, the Canarian group will take to the stage with a show featuring special guest Falete.

Tejina’s San Bartolomé festivities

Tejina is also fully immersed in its festivities in honour of San Bartolomé, and this Saturday will see some of the main events, including the XXXVIII Bestiatlón from 10:00 am and the V Festival Folclórico Agrupación Chisaje at 10:00 pm.

The return of the traditional harvest in Icod el Alto

The district of Icod el Alto, in Los Realejos, will revive its traditional Diego Pérez Harvest Gathering this Sunday at the Finca de Las Cuchillas from 11:00 am. This is the twentieth edition of this ethnographic event, featuring local harvesters as well as members of the 2026 Nuestra Señora del Buen Viaje Festival Committee and the Rambla de Castro and Icod de los Trigos senior citizens’ associations. Earlier in the day, from 9:00 am, a new edition of the parallel Cereal Route will take place, coordinated and led by the Rambla de Castro Nature Classroom and the La Senda del Bentor collective. The traditional harvest gathering will include a variety of activities.

Los Silos celebrates Noche en Blanco

Los Silos celebrates its Noche en Blanco (White Night) this Saturday. From 5:00 pm to midnight, the Open Commercial Zone will host an evening full of music, colour and fun. Not only will shops open their doors with promotions and surprises, but there will also be a gastronomic area, live music and children’s activities.

Sunblast Festival returns to Costa Adeje

The Sunblast Festival returns to Costa Adeje this Saturday, cementing its reputation as one of the largest multi-stage festivals in the archipelago. The event will bring together more than 45 artists across seven themed stages, offering a unique day where electronica, house, techno, urban and the most cutting-edge sounds will all come together.
