Weather shift brings drizzle to Tenerife
The weather forecast for Saturday, 31 January, in Tenerife indicates some changes compared to recent days. A key example is the return of drizzle, which will make an appearance in the north of the island.
Detailed island forecast
Specifically, the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) predicts cloudy skies in the north, below 900 to 1,100 metres in altitude, with a chance of drizzle until the early morning hours when clear spells will tend to develop. In the rest of the island, it is expected to be slightly cloudy or clear, with some cloudy intervals in the southwest during the early hours.
Temperatures, meanwhile, will see little change. Thermometers will range between 16 and 22 degrees across the island. The wind will blow moderately from the north to northeast, with some periods of strong winds on the southeast slope where a locally very strong gust cannot be ruled out. Breezes are expected on southwestern coasts.
Outlook for the entire archipelago
Regarding the weather forecast for the entire archipelago, Aemet expects cloudy skies in Lanzarote, Fuerteventura and the north of the mountainous islands, below 900 to 1,100 metres. There is a chance this will be accompanied by scattered drizzle until the early morning, when clear spells will tend to develop. Elsewhere, it will be slightly cloudy or clear.
The wind will be from the north in the eastern province and from the northeast in the western province, with some periods of strong winds on exposed slopes. Breezes will predominate on the southwestern coasts of the islands with greater relief.
